Tressa Dykstra, MSN, CNP, PNP, PMHS

Tressa Dykstra, MSN, CNP, PNP, PMHS, is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Primary Care & Pediatric Mental Health Specialist (PMHS). Prior to coming to Secure Base Counseling Center, she spent over 8 years working as a developmental and pediatric provider.

Tressa’s professional experience includes working at autism, LEND, and Early Development Multidisciplinary clinics; as a Clinical Instructor at Sandford School of Medicine, and as a provider at Healthy Families America, STI, WIC, and VFC clinics. She also spends time as an advocate speaker for adoption, autism, ADHD, and working with parents of children with special needs.

She has a passion for working with those with developmental delays, genetic disorders, autism, post traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and the LGBTQ community. 

Tressa believes children and their caregivers are experts in their lives. Her approach to the care of her clients is to work alongside families to form therapeutic relationships to help every child to reach their full potential. 

She graduated with an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Nursing degree from Augustana University in 2000. She graduated from Rush University in 2011 with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She was licensed as a Registered Nurse in 2000.
