Tiphany Swanson, MA
Tiphany Swanson, MA is a pre-licensed psychotherapist who enjoys working with individuals and couples of ages 13 and above.
She has previously worked in a day treatment setting for adolescents where she gained experience in implementing trauma-focused interventions and is passionate about working with clients experiencing PTSD. She has also worked with those experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Additionally, she is has completed the Gottman Level 1 training for couples.
Tiphany's therapeutic approach is based in a whole-person perspective which incorporates aspects of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing. She views each client as a unique individual who brings their personality and strengths into the therapy process. She also enjoys working collaboratively with clients, focusing on the relationship as a foundation for growth.
Tiphany has found that clients who are active participants in their therapy gain a sense of mastery and empowerment, which allows them to re-claim their lives. She also works to build relationships with families in cases where she is seeing an adolescent or adult still living at home. She has found that clients who do hard work in session but do not experience changes at home have a more difficult time with growth and success.
Tiphany earned her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary's University. In her free time, she likes to be with her loved ones and fur babies, reading a good book, and cooking for her family. She also enjoys listening to podcasts, traveling to new places, and learning about holistic health and wellness.
