Julie Spencer RN, MN, PMHNP-BC, is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to treat and manage mental health needs of clients across the lifespan (people of any age).
Julie’s enjoyment for connecting with people with the goal of easing suffering and promoting mental/physical/spiritual health have directed her pursuit of becoming a psychiatric mental health care provider.
She has a passion for approaching the care of her clients holistically. When assessing the needs of her clients, consideration is given to the many factors that can influence one’s mental health: brain chemistry, sleep quality, nutritional status, physical/emotional/spiritual health, stress, coping strategies, home life, etc.
Julie graduated with an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in aquatic biology with an emphasis in fisheries from Bemidji State University. Julie received a master's degree in Nursing in 2009 from the University of Minnesota and was licensed as a Registered Nurse in 2010.
She spent 6 years working as a pediatric oncology nurse at City of Hope before pursuing advanced education in psychiatric mental health. She recently earned her Post-Master’s Certificate in psychiatric mental health from Azusa Pacific University in 2017.
Julie is continuing her education by pursuing a certification in biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF).
